Global Protest against the German Self-ID law – Globaler Protest gegen das Selbstbestimmungsgesetz

Dear sisters, we are in need. We, the women. Not only in Germany – worldwide, whether west or east, whether north or south. On April 12 this year, the German government adopted the Self-ID Act („Selbstbestimmungsgesetz“), legally replacing the category of sex with gender.

As of November 1 in Germany:

• Every German adult can change their civil status to the opposite sex and their new name.
• Anyone who continues to refer to a man who claims to have a „female gender identity“ as a man can be fined up to €10,000.
• Parents can choose the official gender for their newborn child, after the age of 5 the child’s „consent“ will be required.
• Children aged 14+ can apply to a family court if their parents do not support their belief in their „wrong body“.

The German government is selling its misogynistic policies as „feminist“. Such hypocrisy is unbearable! The German government ignores the voices of women’s rights activists in the country.

But it also ignores EU voices denouncing violations of women’s rights in Germany, such as:

• Prostitution has been legal for over 20 years;
• Violence against mothers and children. The harmful and unscientific PAS (Parental Alienation Syndrome) concept is still being used in family courts;
• Restricting the political participation of women. Women are prevented from talking about gender-based violence.

Recently, the UN Special Rapporteur on violence against girls and women – Reem Alsalem – published a 17-page letter on the Self-Determination Act to our Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock. In it, she asks the federal government how they intend to ensure the protection against violence and the safety of girls and women with this legislation. A meaningless three-page reply came back from the Permanent Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany at the UN.

Women’s voices are being ignored. All we hear from politicians is,

• “Nothing will be taken away from you!”
• “A penis is not a male genital per se”
• „No doctor can attest from the mere looks which sex a person has.“
• “Trans women are women, I see no need for any discussion.“

This is no stand-up comedy. These are original quotes from our politicians, two of them from the department for families, senior citizens, women and youth. One of them is from the minister herself.

To us, this is a massively misogynistic and child-hostile development.

Women will not allow reality to be distorted by legal fictions. Politicians need to know that we stick to reality. We fear that German jurisdiction will serve as a model for other countries.

On November 1, 2024, the day the Self-ID Act takes effect in Germany, we will organize a demonstration in front of the German Bundestag.

Our motto will be:

“For science, democracy, women and children – away with the so-called self-ID act!”

We are asking women in other countries to demonstrate against the Self-Id Act in front of German embassies and consulates on the same day. Politicians should know that women from all over the world are observing them. They are to be shamed, we are fed up with their gaslighting!

We will use analogies from Orwell’s book „1984“ for our demo, maybe it will inspire you, too?

We prepared a letter template with questions about the Self-ID Act. You can customize the letter and send it to the embassy or consulate on your behalf and request a response. Invite the ambassadors and consuls to your demo for a chat – we’ve seen them go out and talk to us.

Take pictures in front of the embassies and consulates with your posters and post them on all networks on November 1 with our activity hashtags:

When it is too late we in Germany say, „It is five past twelve.“ And for all of us it really is five past twelve or the eleventh hour. We are in need and we need solidarity.

• When will the protest happen?

  If possible, do your protest in front of a German embassy or consulate of your country
• What is the plan?
  Before the protest: Write a letter of protest to the German ambassador of your country. You’ll find a draft here. Invite the ambassador or his team to your protest.
  During the protest: Make photos, videos and/or a live-coverage. Post your photos on social media. Use the Hashtags #SelfIDHarms and #WomenRise
• The Hashtags
  The hashtags #SelfIDHarms and #WomenRise are mandatory. You can add specific topics in your posts. For example „#SelfIDHarms Lesbians“ or #WomenRise in UK. Always use a space behind the hashtag and your topic, so that the mandatory hashtags will be trending. Of course you can add your own hashtags.
  
• Are there any restrictions concerning material?
  As this is first and foremost a feminist protest, make women’s rights issues your priority. You are free to create your own material. Please keep hateful or political statements – e.g. for partys of your country – out. We fight FOR women’s rights and child protection. You can of course copy our topics „science, democracy, women and children“ and the analogy to the ministry of truth and 1984. But this is not at all a must.
• What about men?
  Men are allowed at the protest as bystanders or listeners. If you make photos and videos, please focus on women. Men should stay in the background.
• What can we do at the site of the protest?
  In Germany we will have speakers who focus on science, women’s rights and child protection. We recommend that you also organize female speakers who talk about, how SelfID harms them personally and how it harms us all. Also about how a legislation in another country influences the legislation of your own country. Harmful self identity politics and the erasure of women’s rights are a global issue.
• National flags
  If you would like to use national flags, please use just one flag of your country and one German flag. National flags should not dominate. Thank you.
• „I can’t go to an embassy or consulate“
  No problem! Thank you for help! We have several suggestions:
  • Write a letter/email to the German ambassador of your country. We have a draft for you.
  • For women who can show solidarity at 12:05 on the day (in their own time zone) to post something in their own words on TwiX, maybe a picture, a short few spoken words, etc., to highlight why they are concerned about the new law, what the implications are for women and children, showing solidarity with her German sisters.
  • We need women sharing our tweets and posts on social media and make the hashtags #SelfIDHarms #WomenRise trend
  • For those that *can’t do it on Friday 1st Nov* to do the same as above but at 12:05 the next day (Saturday 2nd).
    Theme: „yesterday this awful law came into force…it will…“
• Security
  Please care for your own security and the security of your group and make a plan, what you are going to do if aggressive trans activists will try to disturb your protest. Involve police and inform them about the extremist and aggressive character of male counter protesters. Always do „safety first“ and don’t let yourself draw into fights with trans activist. Practice the „grey rock“ strategy. Organize some women who are responsible for security.

Liebe Schwestern, wir sind in Not. Wir, die Frauen. Nicht nur in Deutschland – weltweit, ob West oder Ost, ob Nord oder Süd. Am 12. April dieses Jahres hat die Deutsche Bundesregierung das Selbstbestimmungsgesetz verabschiedet und damit die Kategorie „Geschlecht“ gesetzlich durch „Gender“ ersetzt.

Ab dem 1. November 2024 gilt in Deutschland:

• Jeder deutsche Erwachsene kann seinen Personenstand und Geschlechtseintrag sowie seinen Vornamen durch reine Selbstaussage ändern.
• Wer einen Mann, der behauptet, eine „weibliche Geschlechtsidentität“ zu haben, weiterhin als „Mann“ bezeichnet, kann mit einer Geldstrafe von bis zu 10.000 Euro belegt werden.
• Eltern können das offizielle Geschlecht für ihr neugeborenes Kind wählen. Ab dem Alter von 5 Jahren ist die „Zustimmung“ des Kindes erforderlich.
• Kinder ab 14 Jahren können sich an ein Familiengericht wenden, wenn ihre Eltern sie in ihrem Glauben an den „falschen Körper“ nicht unterstützen.

Die deutsche Regierung verkauft ihre frauenfeindliche Politik als „feministisch“. Diese Heuchelei ist unerträglich! Die deutsche Regierung ignoriert die Stimmen der Frauenrechtlerinnen im Lande.

Aber sie ignoriert auch die Stimmen aus der EU, die die Verletzung von Frauenrechten in Deutschland anprangern, wie z.B.:

• Prostitution ist seit über 20 Jahren legal;
• Gewalt gegen Mütter und Kinder. Das schädliche und unwissenschaftliche PAS-Konzept (Parental Alienation Syndrome) wird immer noch vor Familiengerichten angewendet;
• Einschränkung der politischen Teilhabe von Frauen. Frauen werden daran gehindert, über geschlechtsspezifische Gewalt zu sprechen.

Vor kurzem hat die UN-Sonderberichterstatterin für Gewalt gegen Mädchen und Frauen – Reem Alsalem – einen 17-seitigen Brief zum Selbstbestimmungsgesetz an unsere Bundesaußenministerin Annalena Baerbock veröffentlicht. Darin fragt sie die Bundesregierung, wie sie mit diesem Gesetz den Schutz vor Gewalt und die Sicherheit von Mädchen und Frauen gewährleisten will. Von der Ständigen Vertretung der Bundesrepublik Deutschland bei der UNO kam eine nichtssagende dreiseitige Antwort zurück.

Die Stimmen der Frauen werden ignoriert. Alles, was wir von Politikern hören, ist,

• „Euch wird nichts weggenommen!“
• „Ein Penis ist nicht per se ein männliches Geschlechtsorgan“
• „Kein Arzt kann anhand des bloßen Aussehens feststellen, welches Geschlecht ein Mensch hat.“
• „Transfrauen sind Frauen, ich sehe keinen Diskussionsbedarf.“

Das ist keine Stand-up-Comedy. Das sind Originalzitate unserer Politiker, zwei davon aus dem Ministerium für Familie, Senioren, Frauen und Jugend. Eines davon ist von der Ministerin selbst.

Für uns ist das eine massiv frauenfeindliche und kinderfeindliche Entwicklung.

Frauen werden nicht zulassen, dass die Realität durch juristische Fiktionen verzerrt wird. Die Politik muss wissen, dass wir uns an die Realität halten. Wir befürchten, dass die deutsche Rechtsprechung als Vorbild für andere Länder dienen wird.

Am 1. November 2024, dem Tag, an dem das Selbstbestimmungsgesetz in Deutschland in Kraft tritt, werden wir eine Demonstration vor dem Deutschen Bundestag organisieren.

Unser Motto wird sein:

„Für Wissenschaft, Demokratie, Frauen und Kinder – weg mit dem sogenannten Selbstbestimmungsgesetz!“

Die Demonstration wird von 12:05 bis 16:00 Uhr stattfinden.

Wir rufen alle Frauen in Deutschland auf, sich an unserem Protest in Berlin zu beteiligen.

Wir rufen Frauen in anderen Ländern auf, am gleichen Tag vor deutschen Botschaften und Konsulaten gegen das Selbstbestimmungsgesetz zu demonstrieren. Die Politiker sollen wissen, dass sie von Frauen aus aller Welt beobachtet werden. Sie sollen sich schämen, wir haben die Nase voll von ihrem Gaslighting!

Wir werden für unsere Demo Analogien aus Orwells Buch „1984“ verwenden, vielleicht inspiriert es auch Sie?

Wir haben eine Briefvorlage mit Fragen zum Selbstbestimmungsgesetz vorbereitet. Ihr könnt den Brief anpassen und ihn in eurem Namen an die Botschaft oder das Konsulat schicken und um eine Antwort bitten. Ladet die Botschafter zu einem Gespräch auf eure Demo ein – wir haben erlebt, dass sie mit uns ins Gespräch gekommen sind.

1. Rücknahme des sogenannten „Selbstbestimmungs­gesetzes“
2. Entfernung der sogenannten „Geschlechtsidentität“ aus allen Gesetzen
3. Verhinderung der Aufnahme von „geschlechtlicher und sexueller Identität“ in Artikel 3 des Grundgesetzes.

Regeln für unseren Protest

Im Fokus unserer Kundgebung steht die zerstörerische Wirkung des Selbstbestimmungsgesetzes. Politisch motivierte Aussagen zu anderen Themen sind nicht gestattet. National- und Parteisymbolik sind nicht gestattet.

Wir verzichten komplett auf die Beteiligung von Parteien und agieren unabhängig. Jeden Versuch einer Instrumentalisierung durch eine Partei lehnen wir entschieden ab.

Am Schluss unserer Kundgebung gibt es ein offenes Mikrofon, an dem Frauen spontan etwas sagen können. Wenn Sie diese Möglichkeit für sich in Anspruch nehmen, beachten Sie bitte, dass wir keine Parteiwerbung zulassen und dass Frauen nur im eigenen Namen sprechen. Auf Sprechbeiträge von Männern wird verzichtet.

Wir sind eine radikalfeministische Initiative. Daher liegen unser Fokus und unsere Hoffnung bei Frauen, die sich von den frauenfeindlichen Parteien und deren Politik emanzipieren und im Interesse der Frauen und Mädchen politische Arbeit betreiben.

Wir freuen uns auf diese Kundgebung und aktive Beteiligung unserer Mit­streiterinnen! Vielen Dank für die solidarischen Kundgebungen an unsere Schwestern im Ausland! Wir sehen uns am 1. November in Berlin!
